Wiki is a Hawaiian word meaning "quick."  A wiki is a quick way to share information online. Wikis allow for collaboration between students and teachers. Wikis make learning authentic for students and helps to prepare them for the future and the world of work.  Using wikis helps students learn about the Internet and issues of reliability of information. There is a saying that now "the classroom is where the laptop is" so the use of wikis can allow students, parents, and teachers to understand some of the new technologies and adjust accordingly. In a way, using this process allows kids to teach back to kids, of course, with teacher guidance. Enjoy reading these wikis!
